A Personal Note From Crista

Hi,

After 7 months of living in Thailand, I finally arrived home in the U.S.A.

If my heart could talk it would say: mai pen rai.

In Thailand it literally translates to it does not matter or it’s nothing. If translated loosely it means:

Thailand, mai pen rai, love your boyfriend new

Never mind

It’s cool.

Don’t worry. Be happy.

Mai pen rai is not just a common Thai phrase; it is a way of life. Bend with the wind like a bamboo tree, and above all keep smiling.

Being able to deal with hard situations, not getting depressed over material and personal loss, and an all-pervading cheerfulness are the characteristics of mai pen rai.

Because of mai pen rai I’ve noticed that Thai people are happier with their lives and more free of stress than the people from western nations.

I have learned to relax and take my life day by day. While it’s not so easy in the hustle and bustle of American living, my heart now continually whispers….mai pen rai.

Thank you Thailand.

Smiles,
Crista

P.S. This video will put a smile on your face and bring you in tune with mai pen rai: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=l9K4BKkLaCI

Date Ideas on a Budget

By Crista Beck

With our busy lives, time with our boyfriend can often get side tracked by friends, family, deadlines, and other obligations. Spending quality time with your boyfriend is important because it nurtures your relationship.

Quality time is all about focusing on your boyfriend and listening attentively as you do an activity you both enjoy or just catch up on each other's lives.

Here are some suggestions for fun, low-cost date ideas for you and your boyfriend:

Do a volunteer project together.
Giving back to your community is a great way to spend time with your boyfriend. Choose a non-profit organization that is meaningful to the both of you.

Create a movie marathon.
Choose a few movies you'll both enjoy. You could choose a theme such as “80’s Cheesy” or “Sci Fi Madness” or just pop a random collection of whatever appeals to you and your boyfriend. Add some yummy snacks and beverages for a fun evening of entertainment.

Do something outdoors.
Walking, hiking, Frisbee throwing, canoeing, or other outdoor activities give you a chance to get some exercise while spending time with your boyfriend. So get out of the house and get some fresh air!

Play a board game.
Feel like a kid again with CandyLand, Scrabble, or Yahtzee!. Board games are fun. Puzzles can be fun, too.

Quality time without spending a dime!

Do something nice for yourself today!

It’s impossible to be happy in a relationship if YOU are not happy. As women it’s so easy for us to get caught up in our relationship and to forget about our needs.

If you ask any man what they want for their girlfriend, they will respond, “I just want her to be happy.” So do something that makes you happy today. Make it a priority. You’re worth it!
